Milk, produced by female mammals before they give birth and during the period in which they nurse their young, contains all the ingredients necessary
for the development of the newborn:
- sufficient water, basic to all life
- minerals, essential for the building of bones
- various proteins and vitamins, necessary for the physical development of the
young
- fat and sugars, providing energy and strength. ( Sheep’s milk contains more
fat, but fewer sugars than cow’s milk. Goat’s milk has less fat than sheep’s and
more than cow’s.).
